The design, construction, and installation of biotechnology laboratories require careful planning and execution by experts, whether implementing a new facility or managing an existing one.
Lab Furniture for Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Facilities
Healthcare and pharmaceutical labs have to stay clean enough to pass inspection while they keep running day to day. Hanson Lab Solutions builds lab furniture for healthcare settings with steel construction that stands up to daily disinfecting and modular systems that adapt as clinical needs change. We’ve manufactured lab furniture in the United States for more than 50 years, and we work directly with the clinics that run these labs and with the architects and general contractors who design and build them.

Surfaces and Casework That Take Constant Cleaning
In a clinical setting, the furniture gets wiped down all day, so the finish matters as much as the frame. Our clinical lab furniture is built around steel casework with an electrostatically applied, baked-on powder-coated epoxy finish that holds up to repeated disinfecting. The cabinet bodies use flush, seamless welded faces and one-piece drawer bodies with coved corners, so there are fewer seams and crevices where contamination can collect. For the work surface itself, we furnish non-porous epoxy resin and type 304 or 316 stainless steel where sterility and chemical exposure are the priority. Our clean room-compatible cabinets and workbenches are built for contamination control in the most sensitive spaces.
Furniture Matched to How Each Space Works
No two rooms in a healthcare facility ask the same thing of their furniture. Here is how our product lines map to the spaces you are most likely to be outfitting.
Medical and Clinical Labs
Diagnostic and clinical labs need furniture that holds up to long shifts and steady throughput. Our medical lab furniture centers on M-Series™ workstations rated to 1,200 pounds and height-adjustable benches for sample processing. Casework is available at multiple mounting heights, including ADA.
Hospital and Retail Pharmacies
Our lab furniture for pharmacies and hospitals features a steel base and wall cabinets sized for medication storage and preparation, plus dedicated storage and specialty cabinets for the chemicals a pharmacy needs to store safely. Base cabinets come in standing and sitting heights, along with ADA options for an accessible counter.
Pharmaceutical and R&D Labs
Pharmaceutical lab design brings tighter demands, and Hanson supplies for the whole range of them. That includes clean room-compatible casework built for contamination control and chemical storage cabinets for acid, base, corrosive, and flammable materials. For R&D areas that get reconfigured often, Agility™ workstations are rated up to 3,000 pounds across three models. Packaging areas can be outfitted with adjustable-height benches and wall or island shelving.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do your products meet SEFA, UL, and ADA standards?
Many of Hanson’s products are built to meet SEFA, UL, and ADA codes and standards, which matters when a healthcare project has to clear plan review and inspection. Certification varies by model, so the best step is to send us the products you’re specifying, and we’ll confirm what each one carries.
Can you provide specifications and CAD or BIM files for our construction documents?
Yes. Hanson supports architects and specifiers with product specifications formatted to CSI and to Division 11 and Division 12, along with cut sheets and compliance information for approvals. We also send 2D and 3D CAD and BIM files on request, so you can place our casework and workstations directly into your drawings. Send us the model numbers and file types you need, and our team will get them over.
Do you offer AIA or IDCEC continuing-education courses?
We do. Hanson runs AIA- and IDCEC-accredited courses for design firms, available in person or virtually. Many teams book one as a Lunch and Learn to work through lab planning and product selection before a healthcare project reaches specification. Reach out to our team to schedule a session.
Can we see finishes and colors before we specify them?
Yes. Our steel casework uses an electrostatically applied, baked-on powder-coated epoxy finish that stands up to repeated cleaning and is available in the colors shown on our color chart. If you want to see products in person, we have showrooms in Camarillo, California and Durham, North Carolina, open by appointment for a walkthrough.
Can furniture be customized or built to fit a renovation?
Yes, and this comes up often in healthcare work where you are fitting a lab into an existing footprint. Our standard casework and workstations are modular and configurable to start with, and our in-house engineering team builds custom sizes and specialty pieces when the space or the equipment calls for it. For remodels, we design to the existing field conditions.
